Partner and head of the Labor Department, Enrique has been recognized as an outstanding Labor Lawyer by the prestigious international directory Chambers & Partners. He represents several national and international companies in different business sectors such as banking, transportation, energy, industry, hospitality, insurance and distribution. In addition to these duties, he manages the firm’s offices in Madrid and Barcelona, specifically coordinating the Labor Department as well as the department of International Labor Advice which is used by the multinational companies that Ceca Magán Abogados has in its client portfolio.
A graduate in Law from Universidad Pontificia de Comillas (ICADE), he was awarded an Executive MBA by IE Business School, Enrique is currently earning a doctorate with UCM. He provides legal advice for dismissals, collective dismissals, senior executive matters, collective bargaining and collective conflicts, transfers, unilateral termination by the employee, sanctions, illegal assignment of workers, material changes of working conditions, union elections, Social Security matters, sanctions and other matters related to economically dependent self-employed workers. Among the many achievements that attest to his proven experience, particularly significant are his managing role in the collective dismissal of 300 employees in the banking sector, the collective bargaining agreement for an airport services company, the succession process of a multinational in the sector of construction materials and the representation of a company within the audiovisual sector in contesting a collective dismissal affecting over 1,600 employees.
Enrique is a member of the Spanish Association of Labor Lawyers (ASNALA) and of the Spanish Forum of Labor Lawyers (FORELAB). He is a regular speaker at Instituto de Formación Empresarial (IFE), the Spanish Association of HR Managers (AEDRH) and other institutions. He speaks English and German.
With regard to his teaching activities, Enrique taught in the Master’s Degree in Labor Advice (MAJL) at Centro de Estudios Garrigues since 2013. He is also a professor in the Master’s Degree program in Transnational Business Law at IE Law School and a coordinator in the Course on Labor Procedure at the Honorable Bar Association of Madrid (ICAM).
He is the author of multiple articles and books on Labor Law for publishers such as Aranzadi and La Ley (Wolters Kluwer Group). His articles are regularly published in Spanish newspapers such as El Mundo and Expansión and in the award-winning magazine Capital Humano.
