Increase in the hiring of highly qualified foreign professionals (PAC)

The increase in the hiring of foreign Highly Qualified Professionals (PAC) in Spain is mainly due to the search for very specific profiles that are not easily found in the Spanish labor market. Leading sectors such as technology and industry are experiencing a boom in their development, leading them to seek increasingly better-trained and more specialized candidates.

Patricia Ruiz, manager in the area of international mobility, confirms this growth in El Confidencial (for subscribers only): “In our experience in processing residence permits for highly qualified professionals (PAC) and visas for investors, we have seen an increase in applications over the last year.”

She also highlights the particular boom in Barcelona as a work destination for these foreign Highly Qualified Professionals (PAC): “The number of investment applications made in Madrid continues to exceed those in Barcelona, but Barcelona offers ample job opportunities in strategic sectors such as technology. That is why many qualified professionals are moving their residence there.”
